B-day crash

Close shot: Close up on a calendar, January 21st has balloons and smiley faces on it. All the days leading up to it are crossed out and it is circled. An alarm beeps.

Mid shot: To the alarm clock, a hand reaches up and turns it off. Groaning sounds come from the bed.

Mid shot: A 15 year old boy with black hair, Jack, is towelling off his hair as he comes into the kitchen. In the background we hear the TV on a news station. Jack’s mom is making breakfast.
Jack: Morning, mom.
Mom: Happy Birthday Jack. You looking forward to golfing with Rose latter?

Wide shot: Jack getting some dishes out of the cupboard and dishing himself some breakfast.
Jack: For sure! And here I thought all my Roger cousins were lame, but Rose, maybe she’s all right.
Mid shot: Jack sits down in front of the TV and changes the channel.
Mom: Jack, you know I like to keep up on the latest news.
Jack rolled his eyes, but changes the TV back.
Mom: Thank you sweety.
News broadcaster: And in other news, there has been a break in at Military Labs. It has been reported that several things were stolen, but unfortunately, all of them are classified. There are no suspects yet as to who pulled the heist.

Wide shot: outdoor golf course, daytime, no clouds. Two people in sight Rose and Jack. Jack just took a swing. Rose is leaning against a tree, arms folded.
Jack: Did you see that one Rose!? Hole in one! I am so awesome at golf.

Mid shot: Focus on Rose. You see her arms crossed with a bored look on her face.
Rose: I’m glad you’re having fun Jack.
Jack: Ya, this is a great birthday present.

Mid shot: Foreshorten Rose as she gets her foot stuck in some tree roots as she goes towards Jack. sfx: thud
Rose: What else would I get you for oof.
Jack: Hey, you Ok Rose?
Rose: I think my foot’s stuck.

Mid shot: Side view of Rose, her leg changing into a cat’s.
Jack: Well, at least your powers can help with one thing.
Rose: At least they’re better than yours.

Close shot: Jack’s pouting.
Jack: Are not, my powers are way cooler than yours, literally.
Rose: In honor of your birthday, I won’t say anything.

Mid shot: Jack walking away with an arrogant stride, carrying his stuff. There is a slight down hill. Small tennis ball sized white thing on the green. Sfx on the bag of stuff: clang
Jack: Whatever couz, I’m still way better at you at golf.

Close shot: Jack’s picking up the white thing. It’s like a golf ball but with holes in the divots and it’s tennis ball size.
Jack: What’s this thing?
Rose: If you don’t know what it is, why are you touching it? It’s probably just something someone lost.

Close shot: The ball starts lighting up. Red light can be seen through the holes. Sfx: wirl
Jack: Um, Rose? I don’t think it’s supposed to be doing this.

Mid shot: Jack dropping the ball looking surprised. Rose coming closer with a hand on Jack’s arm starting to pull him away.
Rose: What did you do to it?
Jack I didn’t do anything!
Rose: I have a bad feeling about this.
Jack: For once I agree.

Mid shot: A red laser shoots right next to Jack’s ear as he dodges with a look of alarment. Sfx: pew

Wide shot: Jack running from the ball. Rose jumps away, examining it looking like she’s about to leap into the action. The ball is growing to knee height and shooting off lasers. Sfx: pew
Jack: Rose! Help me!
Rose: For someone who was bragging about his powers a second ago, you’re acting like a sissy.
Jack: Oh ya,

Mid shot: Looking over Jack’s shoulder at the thing as ice beams shoot out from his hands, freezing the thing in a block of ice.
Jack: I got this.

Mid shot: the ball starts glowing redder and the ice starts melting. Sfx: bzzz
Jack: Uhh

Close shot: Jack’s surprise showing. His hands go into a fighting stance instinctively.
Jack: Rose, maybe a little help?
Rose: You asking for help? I wish I had a camera.

Mid shot: Rose turning into an elephant and stepping on the ball, smashing it. Sfx: crunch
Rose: I have a feeling I won’t hear those words again any time soon.
Jack: Oh, come on. That’s not fair.
Rose: Sure it’s not. Come on.

Wide shot: Rose turning into a falcon in the air. Jack on the ground looking up at her.
Rose: We should go see if there are more of those things.
Jack: Don’t leave me behind!
Rose: Don’t worry, I’ll come back for you.

Wide shot: Rose as a falcon recons the golf course. She spots three more balls terrorizing other patrons.
Rose: Hmm

Mid shot: Rose lands in front of Jack turning back into a human as she lands.
Rose: Three more, all over this place. We have to go help, people are getting hurt.

Mid shot: Rose turning into a horse, Jack looking at her confused.
Jack: I thought you didn’t like people riding you.
Rose: I don’t, this is an emergency Jack.
Jack: So, people are really getting attacked?

Mid-shot: Jack riding Rose to the right of the screen. People are running left with laser beams going past them.
Rose: No, these people are just doing cardio.

Mid shot: Rose turning back into a human, Jack shooting ice at a ball.
Jack: Ok, plan. I’ll freeze them, you crush them.

Wide shot: Rose crushing a ball as a elephant. Jack mostly looking like he’s in the way. People are still in a panic. There’s some patches of smoldering grass.
Rose: I was thinking it’d be more practical if you helped people.
Jack: Oh ya, right.

Close shot: Jack getting right up in a frightened girl’s face. She’s about his age, a bit older, but not much.
Jack: Hi, I’m Jack, me and Rose are going to save the day.
Person: Uhh…
Rose: Jack, no flirting. Make sure they’re all right.

Wide shot: Jack directing people to the main building.
Jack: I wasn’t flirting Rose.
Rose: You were born flirting.
Jack: ‘ehem’ Alright everyone, come on to the main building. If you’re too injured to move on your own scream loudly.
Injured Person: AHHHH!!!

Close shot: Jack starting to run but looking kinda disappointed. Sfx sigh
Jack: And here I was hoping no one was actually hurt.  

Mid shot: Jack bending over to help an 65 year old man who is clutching at his leg.  
Jack: Ok, you’re going to be alright. Don’t panic.

Mid shot: Jack helping the old man to the building.
Man: What are those things?
Jack: I wish I knew.
Man: You’re such I nice boy. I wish my grandson was more like you.

Mid shot: Jack and the old man from behind. The lighting a bit more dramatic.
Man: In fact all our youth today should do more like this.
Jack: Yeah, uh huh. Thought: ‘ And I really don’t care old man’.

Wide shot: Interior of the building. There are several people sitting and standing around the main area. Jack and Rose are going into the main office. Jack is starting to open the door to the office.
Jack: Hey, you might want to call the police.

Mid shot: The manager is tied up. We see Jack in the doorway over the manager’s right shoulder.
Manager: Mmmm.

Mid shot: Rose slicing through the ropes with bear claws. Sfx: twang
Rose: Are you alright?

Close shot: Manager sighing into his hands.
Manager: Why me?
Rose: What happened?
Manager: We’ve been getting notes some crazy’s been sending us. Apparently they think there’s gold buried under the course.
Jack: Wow, really, there’s gold?
Rose: Jack, go call the police.

Mid shot: Exterior we see a man, named Bill, walking around the golf course with a map in his hands. He is well dressed, but ill groomed.
Bill: Let’s see, this must be the tree here. Now five steps due East.
Jack: Stop right there!

Mid shot: Jack is getting off Rose who is in the form of a large lion at the moment to intimidate the person they’re confronting.
Rose: Remember Jack, don’t go overboard. We just have to keep him here until the police come.
Bill: Stay there, don’t come any closer.
Jack: Or what?

Mid shot: Looking over Bill’s left shoulder, pulling a raygun out and aiming it at Jack and Rose. He seems rather twitchy.
Bill: This puts out more than the things you smashed earlier.
Rose: Jack, keep your mouth shut.
Jack: ‘Gulp’
Rose: Look here, we’re not here to fight you, so please stand down.

Close shot: Foreshortened view of Bill’s raygun in front of his face. He seems to be sweating.
Bill: Look, whatever you are, this will melt you, even if you had a turtle shell, this would melt you.

Mid shot: Rose is turning back into her human form. We see everyone from the side with semi dramatic lighting.
Bill: What are you?
Rose: Just someone who doesn’t want this to end up ugly.
Jack: Look, I’m all for helping you find this treasure you’re looking for.
Rose frowns and gives Jack a light hit on the back of the head.
Jack: Hey Rose what was that for?
Rose: Jack focus.

Mid shot: Jack and Rose jump out of the way of a laser. Rose is turning into a bee. Sfx: pew, pew.
Jack: He’s really trying to hurt us. Rose, I think he’s trying to kill us!
Rose: Don’t kill him Jack.
Jack: But Rose, a little frostbite won’t hurt him right?

Mid shot: Bill is momentarily distracted by trying to find Rose, while she sneaks behind him. He fires wildly.
Bill: Where’d she go? I hate bugs! Die ...
Bill is interrupted by his own screaming.

Close shot: The raygun is dropped on the grass. It is frosted over. Sfx: Thud.
Bill: My hands! You’ll pay for this!

Mid shot: Rose turning back into a human behind Bill and grabbing the raygun while Jack forces Bill to the ground.
Rose: Nice work Jack.
Jack: Yeh.
Wide shot: Bill is tied up to a tree. Jack and Rose are standing a little bit off. Police sirens can be heard coming.
Rose: Sorry your birthday didn’t really turn out as planned.
Jack: Are you kidding? This was way better.
Rose: Remember family rules, don’t expose your powers to normal people.
Jack: Aww, no bragging tomorrow at school?
Rose: Sorry, the rules are there for a reason.

News Broadcaster: Yesterday at Sullivan Golf Courses, Bill Kesler was arrested for an attack of the patrons of the course. He has also been linked to the robbery at Military Labs earlier this week. There were no deaths, but there were several injured. Things could have gone much worse; however, as two unidentified superpowered teens were there and stopped Mr. Kesler before things got completely out of hand…
Mom: Jack?
Jack: Yes mom?
Mom: What do you know about this?
Close shot: Jack is smiling with his back to his mom.
Jack: Nothing at all.
